FAQ

Questions, answered.

The things founders ask most, before we ever talk numbers. If yours isn't here, the assessment is the fastest way to get a real answer for your business.

The work
What exactly is fractional business & brand strategy? +
It's senior strategy and execution across operations, systems, and growth, without a full-time hire. We embed in your business, own the outcomes, and build the systems that make it run, then hand them over. You get experienced leadership scaled to what your business actually needs.
How are you different from an agency or a consultant? +
A consultant hands you a plan and leaves. An agency runs one channel and bills you every month. We embed and own the outcome: we find what's in the way, build it, and stay until the system runs without us. Then we go.
Is this just marketing? +
No. Marketing is one piece, and it comes later. We build the operational foundation first, the systems that let the business run, then the growth engine on top. Pouring marketing on a business that can't run yet only makes the cracks show faster.
What if I only need one thing, like a website or social media? +
That happens, and it's fine. Sometimes one thing really is the constraint. But we'll always look at the whole picture first, because a website or a campaign rarely fixes a problem that actually lives somewhere else in the business.
Do you work with my existing team and tools? +
Yes. We work with what you already have wherever it makes sense, bring your team into the process, and only replace a tool when the current setup is the thing holding you back.
Do you only work in certain industries? +
No. We've worked across salons, haircare lines, daycares, law practices, mortgage brokers, retail, e-commerce, and athleisure brands. The diagnosis and the foundation travel. Different business, same approach.
Pricing & the engagement
What does it cost? +
It depends, and that's an honest answer rather than a dodge. There's no flat rate, because no two engagements are the same. Pricing is shaped by the size of your business, its revenue, and the scope of what needs to be built. Because the work is fractional, you get senior-level leadership for a fraction of what an equivalent full-time salary would cost. After the assessment, we scope the work and share clear pricing before anything begins.
Why don't you list set packages or prices? +
Because the work is shaped by your biggest constraint, not a menu. Two businesses rarely need the same thing first. We diagnose where the friction is, then scope the engagement around what will move your business most.
How long does an engagement run? +
Engagements begin with a mandatory three-month contract, the minimum it takes to build something that actually holds. In practice, most businesses need closer to a six-month engagement to get the full foundation built and running, with growth on top. Either way, there's a defined finish line: done when the foundation is built, documented, and running without us.
How do payments work? +
Engagements are a monthly investment across the time we work together. We agree on the scope and the terms up front, in writing, so there are no surprises along the way.
What happens when the engagement ends? +
You carry it forward. Everything we build is documented so your team can run it without us. We don't linger or quietly turn into a forever retainer. If you want continued support down the road, that's a separate conversation you're welcome to start.
Getting started
How do we get started? +
Fill out the client assessment. It tells us how your business runs today and where the friction is. Every engagement begins there, and it's how we find the gap before we ever quote the work.
What is the assessment, and does it cost anything? +
It's a short questionnaire about your business, and it's free. It helps us both see whether we're the right fit and where the real work is, before any money changes hands.
How involved do I have to be? +
More at the start, less as we go. Early on we'll need your time to understand the business and make decisions together. As the systems get built, the whole point is that things start running without you.
Is my business too small, or too big, for this? +
If you're founder-led and the business has outgrown the way it's currently run, you're in the right place. We've worked with brand-new owners and established businesses alike. The assessment is the fastest way to know for sure.
Do you work remotely or in person? +
Both. We're based in Montréal and work with founders wherever they are, in person when it helps and remotely when it doesn't.
Do you work in English and French? +
Yes, in both.
Is my information kept confidential? +
Always. Anything you share in the assessment or the work stays between us, and we're glad to sign an NDA if you'd like one in place.
